LAS VEGAS, NV — September 2026 — Skin Rehab Lab founder and award-winning scar restoration specialist Cheryl Ipiales announces a new collaboration with internationally recognized fascia expert, inventor and entrepreneur Ashley Black, bringing Black’s NeXcia™ fascia-focused technology to the Skin Rehab Lab community.
The collaboration grew from a question Ipiales began asking after years of working hands-on with scarred and compromised tissue:

At Skin Rehab Lab, Ipiales specializes in Restorative Scar Therapy, working through the layers of compromised skin with scar and stretch mark revision, collagen induction therapy, restoration, pigment restoration and camouflage.
Her approach has always gone beyond simply changing the color of a scar. Depending on the tissue, treatment may address texture, tissue quality, pliability, collagen remodeling, pigment and overall appearance.
And over the years, Ipiales began noticing something else.
Clients weren’t only talking about how different their scars looked.
They were talking about how different they felt.
“I’ve had so many clients experience incredible changes not only in the appearance and quality of their scar tissue, but in how the area feels and moves,” says Ipiales. “Collagen induction and restorative scar therapy can do remarkable things with compromised tissue. But sometimes you can tell there is more to the story. I started asking: What if we could go deeper?”

Scar tissue forms as the body repairs an injury or surgical incision. In some cases, healed tissue can remain tight, tethered or adherent to deeper connective tissue, affecting the way an area moves and glides.
For Ipiales, movement became the bridge between scar restoration and fascia.
“You see the scar—but have you ever thought about how it moves?” Ipiales says. “Does it pull? Does it feel tight? Does the tissue move freely? My work addresses the compromised scar tissue itself. When restriction extends beyond that tissue, fascia becomes another part of the conversation.”
That realization created a natural connection with Ashley Black, whose decades of work have focused on fascia and the connective-tissue system.

NeXcia™ extends the conversation to fascia and movement, giving clients an at-home way to focus on the deeper connective-tissue environment.
“This isn’t about replacing what we’re already doing,” says Ipiales. “It’s about building on what I’ve learned from working with scar tissue every day. We restore the scar. NeXcia extends the conversation to what lies beneath.”
