FAQs
-
Immediately after the procedure, the area appears pinkish-red and inflamed, similar to a mild sunburn. You might experience slight irritation. Swelling typically subsides by the next day, and the redness transitions to a brown tone as the skin enters the proliferative healing stage. This brown coloration remains for approximately 4–6 weeks before gradually fading.
-
Flat, white stretch marks without noticeable discoloration (such as silver, purple, brown, or red) are ideal candidates for camouflage tattooing. If stretch marks already match your surrounding skin tone or display discoloration, inkless tattooing with growth-factor serum is a more suitable option.
-
Scars must be fully matured—typically 10 to 12 months post-surgery—before beginning treatment. For scar reduction without pigment use, we may wait even longer to ensure the best outcome.
-
After treatment, keep the area dry for 2 days and avoid sweating for the same period. For 2 weeks, avoid saunas, pools, hot yoga, baths, and sun exposure to ensure optimal healing.
-
Aftercare includes keeping the area dry for 5 days and avoiding sweat-inducing activities for 2 days. Refrain from saunas, pools, hot yoga, baths, and direct sun exposure for 2 weeks. We may apply a Tegaderm dressing for the first 5 days and recommend rinsing with antibacterial water after removal. Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided in-office to ensure clarity and understanding.

UV exposure is the biggest threat to scar tissue—it can cause thickening and darkening. Sun protection is essential: apply sunscreen every few hours, use body makeup for an extra layer, and wear sun-protective clothing if you'll be in the sun.

Under the Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA), medical insurance may cover part of a 3D areola tattoo. We will provide the invoice and receipt for you to submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement.
-
Yes. Scar tension—especially after procedures like facelifts—can restrict movement. Our scar-reduction (or "scar-relaxation") technique uses microneedling to release tight tissue, restoring mobility over time.
-
Yes. We generally recommend silicone sheets or creams 1–2 months post-op and topical products with retinol or melanin inhibitors at 3–4 months post-op. Please consult your surgeon for personalized guidance.

Fibroblast Plasma Lift is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses controlled plasma energy to target the skin’s surface. The plasma arc creates tiny micro-injuries—also called “carbon dots”—that stimulate your skin’s natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production. The result? Firmer, smoother, lifted skin—without surgery.
-
Fibroblast is ideal for:
• Upper and lower eyelids (nonsurgical eye lift)
• Crow’s feet and frown lines
• Forehead and glabella (11 lines)
• Jawline, jowls, and neck
• Nasolabial folds
• Abdomen, décolleté, and knees
• Stretch marks and surgical or acne scars -
Yes. Most clients experience 5–10 days of social downtime. Immediately after treatment, you may notice redness, swelling, and small carbon crusts. These scab over and naturally shed as the skin heals. You’ll be given detailed aftercare instructions to support the best results.
-
We apply a medical-grade topical numbing cream before your session to minimize discomfort. You may feel a mild heat or “zapping” sensation, but most clients find the treatment tolerable and quick.
-
While many clients see noticeable improvement after just one session, optimal results are often achieved with a series of treatments spaced 8–12 weeks apart, depending on your skin’s laxity and overall goals.
-
Fibroblast results can last up to 3 years, depending on your skin’s condition, age, lifestyle, and how well you maintain your skin. Think of it as a powerful reset—not permanent, but long-lasting and natural-looking.
-
Fibroblast Plasma Lift is not recommended for deeper skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) due to increased risk of hyperpigmentation. At Skin Rehab Lab, we prioritize safety and offer alternative skin-tightening and scar revision options for melanated skin.
-
At Skin Rehab Lab, Fibroblast isn’t just dots—it’s strategic restoration. We use master-level mapping and a trauma-informed technique to respect the natural tension lines of the face and body. This delivers refined, lifted results with a focus on long-term skin health and collagen integrity.
"I have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, should I be worried?"
Please let us know in advance if you do, we can recommend pre care step that will suppress melanin activity on your skin prior to your appointment, as well as the proper after care to prevent it.
